Fall Maintenance Checklist

Happy Tuesday, everyone! Today's #TipTuesday revolves around fall. Can you believe the first day of fall is in just two short weeks??

Here is a helpful Seasonal Fall Maintenance checklist you can follow to get ready for this next season!

1.) Install fresh batteries in smoke and carbon monoxide detectors
2.) Test and dust all detectors
3.) Check fire extinguishers
4.) Clean kitchen exhaust hood and filter
5.) Drain sediment from hot water heater
6.) Vacuum refrigerator coils
7.) Insulate exposed pipes as needed
8.) Schedule furnace inspection
9.) Remove (or cover) window air conditioners
10.) Have chimneys and flues inspected and cleaned
11.) Remove screens and install storm windows
12.) Turn off outdoor water supply, and store hoses
13.) Inspect roof for damage
14.) Clean gutters
15.) Inspect caulk around windows and doors; recaulk as needed
16.) Trim trees and shrubs away from house
17.) Inspect deck for any nails or screws that may be popping up
18.) Cover or store outdoor furniture
